Doug Mueller's Mazda Rotary Powered RV-6

Off to a good start with son assisting

Horizontal stabilizer getting ready to rivet

Wing coming right along

Neat things come BIG BOXES!

It was in route from the Philippines for several months.
(This is a quick build fuselage kit.)

It was mentioned above that this was a rotary powered RV.
Here it is ready to go right out of a Mazda, Prop and all. (:-))
Just kidding! Below you can see what it really entails.

Here, Doug has been cleaning out the passages

Rotors.

The inner surface of the rotor housing is steel with chrome plating.
The rotor seals or followers are cast iron.

Shown here are the individual coils which are Corvette parts.

Each rotor has two spark plugs, therefore four coils.

The above unit is an electronic fuel and ignition spark control.
Much like our modern automobiles, but with 100% redundancy!
